W-Course
The W-Course prepares students for any program in economics, business, or the social sciences.
The curriculum for this course type designates German, mathematics, and economics as the subject areas for the written exam. Information technology, economic history, cost-performance analysis, and English are offered as minor subjects.
The course, the entrance examination, and the assessment test are free of charge. You are charged a semester enrollment fee for each semester.
The courses begin in both summer and winter semesters.
Application
The application is initially submitted online via the Uni-Assist applicants’ portal and requires that you also send all (certified and translated) documents to Uni-Assist by postal mail.
Documents
The following documents are required for every applicatio and have to be sent to uni-assist:
• Application for admission
• Proof of higher education entrance qualification
• Proof of German language skills of B2 Level (CEFR) or above
• Plain photocopy of your passport
Depending on your country of origin and your personal academic career, you may need to submit additional documents. Regarding this please read the notes for certain countries of originby uni-assist.
You can find this information in the English brochure “SHORT INFO Bachelor International” as well as the more comprehensive German version, “BEWERBERINFO Bachelor International.” This contains information about translations, certifications, and country-specific documents. The last page is a checklist of all required documents.
Language Skills
The application must include proof of German language skills corresponding to at least B2 Level of the Common European Frame of Reference (CEFR).
The language-skills certificate need not have been issued by any particular language school, but it must show that the applicant has passed an examination for B2 Level or above. Attendance certificates are not accepted.
For the W-Course, you must also prove English skills at level A2 or at least 3 years in school.

After Your Application
Once Uni-Assist has successfully reviewed your application, you will receive an invitation to an admissions test from the Preparatory School.
You will receive the invitation digitally as a PDF email attachment sent to the address you provided to Uni-Assist. Check this address for spelling errors and also look in your Spam folder.
You can use the invitation to apply for your visa.
