Supplementary Test

The assessment test entitles students to pursue a degree program in the corresponding focus area. At our Preparatory School, this is either T, W, or M.

This list shows which of the TU Berlin’s bachelor’s programs correspond to which focus areas.

If you intend to pursue a degree in a subject that does not match your completed assessment test but fits within the options for study offered by your foreign higher education entrance qualification, you can broaden your available disciplines by taking a supplementary test.

This test is administered externally; in other words, you only take tests. The testing sessions are the same as those for the Preparatory School’s assessment test.

Let’s say you’ve completed the assessment test with the T focus area and now want to study economics at the TU Berlin. To study economics at the TU Berlin, you need to have completed the W focus area. As long as your foreign  higher education entrance qualification does not exclude the W focus area, you can become eligible to study in a W degree program by completing the W supplementary test.

Applying for the Supplementary Test

To take a supplementary test, you must submit a complete application through Uni-Assist by the given deadline.

The TU Berlin Preparatory School administers this exam for the T, W, and M focus areas.

Applying via Uni-Assist

The “Antrag auf Zulassung” (application for admission) is the online application via Uni-Assist.

We have put together step-by-step instructions describing how to complete an application for the Preparatory School, illustrated with screenshots.
